Quartz Send Water Filter

The quartz sand water filter is equipment used for the primary waters and sewage filtration for civil and industrial application, when it is necessary to obtain an effluent to be reused with a reduced presence of organics matters.
The filtration is carried out according to a discontinuous cyclic process: a differential pressure gauge stops the flow of water to be filtered as soon as the pressure difference reaches an established limit value; at the same instant the filter back washing cycle is automatically activated and a water and air flow put in from the bottom.
The quartz sand water filtration removes suspended solids in the water mainly through a mechanical sieving process through the entire volume of the filter medium, whereby all solids particles larger than those pores are retained, while a part of the finer ones are trapped within the blind channel.
The latter process causes a progressive clogging of the interstices of the passage of water, from which it follows a gradual increase of the load losses through the filter, and in the final phase of the cycle a sudden numbness outgoing water.
When the load losses and/or the turbidity of the water exceed a predetermined limit, need to stop the cycle of filtration and initiate the backwash.
